Maryland football vs. Connecticut scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

The Maryland football team will play its first true road night game in four years when the Terrapins travel to Connecticut on Sept. 14  for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff, according to the Huskies athletics Web site.

Maryland’s Web site still lists the start time as TBA. It will be broadcast on ESPN3.

The Terps played night games three times in 2011 — hosting Miami and Clemson and opposing Notre Dame at FedEx Field — but haven’t hit the road at night since Oct. 10, 2009, against Wake Forest, a 6:30 p.m. kickoff.

Maryland already announced it will host Florida International in the season opener at 12:30 p.m. on Aug. 31 and Old Dominion the following week at 4 p.m. Last season, Maryland never played later than 3:30.
