Mitch McConnell explained — in 1 cartoon

Whether you love or hate Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell -- and there's almost no one who doesn't feel strongly about him -- you have to give him his due when it comes to the unapologetically bare-knuckled approach he takes to campaigns.

The latest evidence of that approach is the leaked audio tape of a McConnell campaign meeting in which he and his team go through the opposition research file against Ashley Judd, the actress who, for a time, mulled running against the Kentucky Republican.

Louisville Courier Journal cartoonist Marc Murphy perfectly captures the relationship between McConnell and his Democratic rivals in this animated cartoon.
