Breaking down the Syria vote by defense industry contributions — in 1 graphic

By a 10 to 7 margin, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee voted last week in favor of a resolution to authorize military action against the Syrian government.

Thanks to a graphic from International Business Times (with data from Maplight.org), we can see how much campaign money each senator received from the defense industry from 2007-2012.

Senators who voted for military action received more than 80 percent more money from defense industry donors than those who voted against it.
