The Fix’s government shutdown playlist

The government shutdown will be upon us in less than 12 hours -- unless House Republicans, Senate Democrats and the White House can construct some sort of last minute deal. (Don't count on it.)

In hopes of bringing a little levity to a serious situation -- and maybe putting a smile on your face in what is undoubtedly a tough time for Washington and the country -- we asked our Twitter followers to suggest songs to be part of a government shutdown Spotify playlist. (Make sure to check out the rest of our government shutdown coverage here.)

And, boy oh boy, did they respond.  We culled down hundreds (literally) of suggestions into the playlist below. You can see the full range of suggestions (or at least most of them) if you check out the hashtag #fixplaylist.
