A clean CR vote? Not happening.

President Obama urged House Speaker John Boehner to hold a vote on a "clean" continuing resolution as soon as possible during a press conference Tuesday.

But, it's just not going to happen -- despite the fact that The Fix's whip count suggests there are more than the 217 votes needed for it to pass the House. Why? Because the passage of a clean CR with mostly Democratic votes would double as the death knell of Boehner's Speakership. And he's not ready to call it quits just yet.
