What’s the best movie set in your state? This map will tell you.

Ever heard of "Hachi: A Dog's Tale"?  Me neither. According to the Internet Movie Database, it's "a drama based on the true story of a college professor's bond with the abandoned dog he takes into his home" and stars Richard Gere and Joan Allen. It's also the top-rated movie set in Rhode Island on IMDB.

What's the top-rated movie in your state?  Thanks to Reddit user "Jakubisko," we have the answer via this map. (Click the map for a larger image.)

Jakubisko acknowledges that for Montana (TV miniseries "Lonesome Dove") and North Dakota (top movie "Fargo"), there is considerable debate since neither production was predominantly set in those states. Those caveats aside, the map is absolutely fascinating. Our favorites? "The Departed" as the Massachusetts movie, "Pulp Fiction" as the California movie and "The Shining" as Colorado's top flick.
