Rick Perry: ‘You don’t want to ruin a kid’s life for having a joint’ (VIDEO)

Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) talked marijuana laws on ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" Tuesday, saying, "You don't want to ruin a kid's life for having a joint."

Perry discussed lowering penalties and described the drug court system in Texas. In January, Perry urged moving in the direction of decriminalizing marijuana.

Perry recently received a very enthusiastic reception at a conservative confab in Washington. Will he run for president again in 2016? "America is a great place for second chances," is all Perry told Kimmel.

The governor sat down with Kimmel in Austin, where the South by Southwest festivals are happening. Watch the full interview below.
