Politicians l-o-v-e soccer. Seriously. Like, a lot.

What better way for a politician to show just how in touch they are with the public than to watch Tuesday's World Cup game between the United States and Belgium -- and tweet a picture of yourself doing it! (Never mind that pesky stat that six in ten Americans don't care about the World Cup.)

Look, here's former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg watching!

And South Dakota Sen. John Thune!

Former Secretary of State Madeline Albright actually put a real soccer ball in her pic.

First Lady Michelle Obama went with an action shot.

Then there were the, well, odder, tributes to the U.S. mens national team. Our favorite? Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake tweeted a cactus.

None of these politicians, of course, held a candle to how Texas Sen. Ted Cruz urged on the American team prior to their last game against Germany.
