Intelligence Squared Debate: Snowden Was Justified

Intelligence Squared presented a particularly lively debate last night in New York City — “Resolved:  Snowden Was Justified.”  Arguing for the motion were Daniel Ellsberg, former U.S. military analyst & Pentagon Papers whistleblower; and Ben Wizner, legal adviser to Edward Snowden and attorney for the ACLU.  Arguing against the motion were Andrew C. McCarthy, former federal prosecutor and contributing editor, National Review; and Ambassador R. James Woolsey, former director of the CIA & chairman of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies.  Details, results, video, etc., are available here.
