Doing good has never been so easy. ONE, a grass-roots advocacy campaign that fights extreme poverty and preventable disease, released its app for the iPhone recently.
The app’s goal is to bring social advocacy into the new age by letting people engage wherever they are, instead of directing users to a Web site. The app has five main sections: latest, blog, proof, connect and more. Users can keep up with news from the campaign, access tools to demonstrate the campaign’s results and look for events in their area.
One neat feature is in the “latest” section, which provides app users with a one-tap option to join in calling campaigns to the White House or Capitol Hill. For those a little nervous about making a call, the group has provided a script.
The app is free and lets you share content over social networks. Even if you’re not part of the ONE movement, this app is an innovative step forward for mobile social advocacy. Free, for iOS.
