Regarding the Aug. 9 editorial [“Md. gambling, wagging the dog”]:
The Post is wrong to blame the gambling industry for Maryland’s political follies. The industry will go wherever it finds pliant legislators or Indian tribes.
Any state that has a “structural deficit” has only itself to blame because it has let spending get out of control and lacks a stable and balanced tax system. Maryland should take a look at itself in the mirrored disco ball and decide if it really wants to be the Las Vegas of the East.
