Regarding the Sept. 19 news article “Fed bid to boost housing market will lift banks”:
The Post owes me a lunch, because I choked on my sandwich after reading the line, “Banks say they are keeping [mortgage] rates high right now because lowering them any further would overwhelm them with customers.”
Huh? Don’t they want customers? Is executing a loan rocket science? How about this novel idea: Why don’t banks hire some extra people to handle the customers?
