Regarding the Feb. 21 Metro article “Cabbies accused of demanding cash”:
The Taxicab Commission should enact the following rule: If a credit card machine in a District cab is found not to work, that ride should be free. The taxi then should be taken out of service until the machine is working again.
District residents, workers and visitors deserve taxi service worthy of our great city. The present taxi service is expensive and substandard.
