In her May 18 Free for All letter [“An irrelevant detail”], Susanne Lazanov argued that The Post should not have reported that an accident victim was a grandmother because her family status was irrelevant to the story. If we follow this mind-set, why report this as news at all? Or perhaps The Post should simply state that a human was killed in an auto accident and leave it at that.
I would have no problem being referred to as a father if my life were to end abruptly and the media were to report on that.
