As a conservative, I frequently disagree with Colbert I. King’s columns. That notwithstanding, I enjoy reading them. His June 14 op-ed column, “A father’s labor of love,’’ is one that I read with great joy and agreement. In both context and specificity I identified very much with his message. I am white and King is black, so many of our experiences and perspectives may be different (although not necessarily). But in reading the column about his father, I felt like I was reading the sentiments of a very close brother.
