Regarding the Nov. 6 front-page article “Why Election ‘Day’ doesn’t exist anymore”:

Election Day voting procedures are as archaic as the electoral college. How many work hours are lost due to long polling lines and to parents having to stay home to watch children, who themselves lose valuable school time?

Early voting and absentee ballots are mere mini-steps forward. The next step — and one that comes soon, I hope — is to vote online. We can transmit our tax returns, manage our bank accounts, read newspapers, listen to and watch news, and order our books and groceries online. We should be able to vote online, too.
