Give Catholic nuns the respect they are due

Regarding the June 2 news article “U.S. nuns’ group issues a forceful response to Vatican report”:

Thanks to The Post for publishing this article. I am 67 years old and was a nun. I was raised mainly in Catholic boarding schools run by the Sacred Heart nuns, including Pressbaum boarding school near Vienna, where many of the sisters had escaped from prisons in Hungary. They had such an impact on my religious formation.

It is time that religious women who are the backbone of the Catholic Church are respected and shown deep gratitude for all the ministries they have performed throughout the centuries of the church. The kingdom is no longer in the Vatican. The kingdom is in the people who have been faithful to the church all these years.
