Many firms offshore jobs

Let’s get real: The Post’s front-page article about Bain Capital and offshoring jobs was a political ploy [“Bain’s firms sent jobs overseas,” June 22]. Apple Inc. offshores jobs to China, where workers are paid a lot less than U.S. workers. Many U.S. credit card companies and banks offshore jobs as well. We all know that because we’ve talked to lots of their workers in India.

The offshoring of jobs by U.S. firms is a common practice. The U.S. economy is in a free fall, and The Post would rather attack a solid private-equity company that has created thousands of U.S. jobs than to talk about the issue of offshoring jobs in a much broader context — e.g., the U.S. role in a global economy.
