Was it a dream? I was hoping that I’d wake up on Saturday morning and find that the Nationals’ season-ending loss was a bad dream. Could it be possible that the Kid (Bryce Harper), the Franchise (Ryan Zimmerman) and the Beast (Michael Morse) had all hit home runs to give the Nats an early six-run lead? Could Cy Young (Gio Gonzalez) have pitched so poorly? Could the Closer (Drew Storen) really have been twice one pitch away from exhilarating victory, only to walk both batters and eventually to give up four runs?

As might happen on a bad TV show, I half-expected to wake up seeing Bobby Ewing coming out of my shower or finding myself next to Bob Newhart in my bed.
