While we are all happy that the Washington Nationals are in the playoffs [“Washington will be part of MLB’s postseason for the first time since 1933,” Sports, Sept. 21], it is very disturbing that the Nats allow only online and telephone purchases for playoff tickets. These purchases contain excessive “service” and “processing” fees. Many Nats fans know that you do not have to pay these excessive fees if you buy tickets at Nationals Park.
I have bought tickets to many professional sporting events in many cities. All of these teams sell playoff tickets at the stadium. The Nationals seem to be more interested in generating revenue from their excessive ticket fees than making tickets more affordable to fans.
