A church ''poor and for the poor''
Pope Francis temporarily relieved German Bishop Franz-Peter Tebartz-van Elst from his post Oct. 23, following reports of his penchant for luxury items, earning him the nickname, "Bishop of Bling.'' The bishop’s exploits, including a $42 million renovation of his residence and first-class plane flight to India, goes against the doctrine Francis has espoused for a more humble church that needs to think of its poorest members first.
