Road-budget woes: Carrying us back to old Virginny
Republicans insist that government should be run as well as businesses supposedly are. But imagine any business run like Virginia’s transportation system [“Kicking the can in Virginia,” editorial, Dec. 25].
Letters would be written on typewriters, corrections made with “Wite-Out,” phone calls made on rotary phones — none of those newfangled mobile phones for us! — and interoffice communication handled by pneumatic tubes and couriers.
