Sugarcoating Hezbollah

The Sept. 27 news story “Hezbollah becomes wild card in Syria” failed to mention that Hezbollah is a terrorist group and was responsible for killing more U.S. citizens, prior to Sept. 11, 2001, than any other group. Specifically, among its many acts, Hezbollah was responsible for the 1983 bombings of the U.S. Embassy and U.S. and French barracks in Beirut that collectively killed more than 360 people.

In calling Hezbollah a “militant group,” The Post is softening the image of a terrorist organization and failing to provide readers an understanding of what it is.

Hezbollah is a bunch of opportunist thugs who have received considerable funding from the governments of Iran and Syria and illegal activities around the world and who have killed and kidnapped many people who have opposed their views.
