In his Oct. 18 letter, John Boska argued that the shutdown and dysfunction of Washington is proof that it’s time for a constitutional amendment requiring a limit of two terms for members of Congress. Though there may be problems with our representatives being in office too long, the dysfunction and shutdown of Washington is not one of them. That blame lays squarely with a few dozen hotshots whom the Tea Party put in place to dismantle Washington.
The impasse our country has been suffering through is the result of these unprofessional amateurs, who believe they don’t need to be concerned with how our government works, how the world works or how dependent the world is on the United States functioning as a stable, predictable world power. God save us from these “patriots.”
