The real Democratic agenda for Herman Cain

Regarding the Nov. 9 front-page article “Cain calls latest allegation ‘baseless, bogus and false’ ”:

Herman Cain has said that he believes “the Democratic machine” is responsible for the revelations about his alleged sexual misconduct. As a supporter of President Obama, I would like to let Mr. Cain in on a little secret: Democrats like me want Herman Cain in the race. I may even send him a contribution.

Our true conspiratorial agenda is to keep Mr. Cain, Rick Perry and Michele Bachmann in the race as long as possible. With them as the face of the Republican Party, we figure Mr. Obama can’t lose. Hang in there, Mr. Cain, we’re pulling for you!
