Regarding the June 17 Metro article “Mansion bills may break the rules”:

Who would have guessed that Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney was talking about Virginia Gov. Robert F. McDonnell (R) and his family when Mr. Romney infamously scorned the “47 percent” who “believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you name it.”

Turns out “you name it” includes taxpayer- covered deodorant, sunscreen, a detox cleanse, dog vitamins, errands for adult children and, if the former governor’s mansion chef’s allegations are true, the right to pilfer kitchen supplies. And that list doesn’t even count the questionable gifts the McDonnells have accepted from donors.

Their petty behavior is shameless, but it’s their apparent sense of entitlement that is truly sickening.
