Radel was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and currently resides in Ft. Myers, Fl. He received a bachelor's degree in communications from Loyola University Chicago. Radel is a well-known media personality in Southwest Florida. He was an anchor on the CBS affiliate WINK-TV from 2007 to 2010 before he began hosting a conservative television and radio program called Daybreak. Radel also ran a separate company that was involved in the purchase and selling of domain names. He stepped down as a television and radio host when he started his campaign for Congress. Radel and his wife, Amy Wegmann, have a son.
