Why She Matters
Saul is Mitt Romney’s campaign press secretary. She had previously worked on Sen. John McCain's (R-Ariz.) communications team during the 2008 presidential campaign. In 2011, she joined Mitt Romney's Free & Strong America PAC as a communications adviser, setting off speculation that she would play a key communications role on a Romney 2012 presidential campaign team.
Saul grew up in Dalton, Ga., just across the border from Tennessee, and studied communications and Spanish at Vanderbilt University. Her first Washington, D.C., job was at DCI Group, where "all of my clients had politically charged issues, and I realized I was interested in it," she told the Dalton Daily Citizen.
