Demonstrators expressed their opinions several ways in anticipation of the Supreme Court ruling on President Obama’s health-care initiative.
June 25, 2012 Carol Paris, a physician from Leonardtown, Md., was part of a protest gathered outside the Supreme Court for rulings in the much anticipated health-care and immigration cases. The high court ruled states may play a limited role in enforcing illegal-immigration laws but upheld the part of the law that requires police to check the immigration status of anyone they detain or arrest if they have reasonable suspicion. A ruling on the health-care law is expected Thursday, the last day of the year’s term. Nikki Kahn/The Washington Post Buy Photo
