Brad Dayspring
Press secretary, House Majority Leader (since 2008)

An aggressive message master who has done much to solidify his boss's reputation as a rising Republican star, Dayspring has embraced old media and new.
He Twitters constantly, often engaging in tweeting duels with Democratic press secretaries in the daily Hill message wars. And he's unafraid to pitch stories to online news sites like the Huffington Post, even though they don't necessarily share his ideological viewpoint. "At the end of the day, like them or dislike them, [liberal news sites] drive news," Dayspring said.

Dayspring is a native of Passaic County N.J., and attended high school at Don Bosco Prep in Ramsey. Politico reported that as an 8th grade student, he called Rush Limbaugh to speak out against a teacher who had outspoken views against the first Persian Gulf War. He told the conservative radio host that "she doesn't support the troops and the war." After Limbaugh announced the name of the school, when Dayspring "arrived at his northern New Jersey middle school, hundreds of war supporters surrounded the building. That was his entrance into grass-roots politics."
Climbing the Hill
His career on Capitol Hill began with then-House Budget Chairman John Kasich (R-Ohio), who was elected Ohio governor in 2010.
Dayspring made a great deal of close media contacts while working for President George W. Bush from 2001 to 2004. In addition, he maintains a close relationships with both reporters on Capitol Hill and in the White House.
