Why She Matters

As the former political director behind a campaign demanding higher wages and health care for Wal-Mart employees, Wicks has been dubbed, by both supporters and critics, "Buffy the Wal-Mart Slayer."

The young and aggressive field organizer then decided to lend her talents to the fledgling Obama campaign as its California field director. She went on to become the deputy field director in Texas, and ultimately the field director for the crucial state swing state of Missouri.
