Path To Power
Johnson was born in Roseboro, N.C., in 1954.
Johnson enlisted in the Air Force in 1973, retiring with the rank of lieutenant colonel in 1999. During his service, he graduated from Troy University in Alabama in 1979 and earned a master's from Georgia Tech University in 1984.
Regarding his political beliefs, Johnson said: "I'm pro-life, pro-gun, and for smaller government, lower taxes, less government intrusion, sticking to the Constitution, and I'm for God and family values - that's what I stand for."
In his role as founder of the Ohio Sales Tax Reform Initiative, Johnson worked with state Rep. Kevin Bacon (R) to introduce a bill to eliminate the state-sales tax six days a year.
