Larry Bucshon (R-Ind.)

U.S. Representative (since 2011)

(House Conservatives Fund)

Why He Matters

Buchson won the 2010 race to replace Brad Ellsworth (D), who bid unsuccessfully for the Senate against former and future Sen. Dan Coats (R).

A heart surgeon and former U.S. Navy Reservist with no political track record, Bucshon was inspired to run for Congress by former fellow cardiologist Rep. Charles Boustany (R-La.). Bucshon's 2010 House campaign has been funded in part by medical political action committees. If elected, Bucshon would join the Congressional Republican Doctors Caucus.
