An analysis by The Washington Post and the Center for Responsive Politics shows big businesses provided significant financial support to the lawmakers who voted against raising the debt ceiling Oct. 16. Business groups, particularly from the banking sector, warned of the dire consequences of default if members failed to lift the debt ceiling.
