Pay raises for federal vs. private workforce

This chart from President Obama’s proposed fiscal 2013 budget indicates that pay raises for federal workers have dropped sharply in comparison with the private workforce. Senate legislation scheduled for a Tuesday vote would extend the current two-year freeze on basic federal pay rates for another year.
