Scott McAdams

Former Alaska Senate Candidate (D)

(McAdams Campaign)

Why He Matters

Little known outside of the small city of Sitka, Alaska, where he was elected mayor in 2008, McAdams is the Democratic Senate nominee in an interesting 2010 race.

His chances of winning were increased when Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) said she would defend her seat with a write-in campaign after losing the Republican nomination to Tea Party favorite Joe Miller. But even before the write-in ballots could be counted, it became clear that McAdams wouldn't beat either Republican in the conservative state. (Follow results here).
