The annual agency battle to spend the rest of their budget
Federal workers are fighting an annual, and entrenched, battle to spend the rest of their budgets before the end of the fiscal year on Sept. 30. In many cases, Congress requires agencies to spend their allotted budget by Sept. 30 or lose that money. Contractors worried that this year’s spending would be less because of sequestration and worker furloughs. Read related article.
