The Wisconsin recall's big money
The failed effort to unseat Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) in a recall election Tuesday ranks as the most expensive political contest in state history, with more than $63 million spent by candidates and groups on both sides. Walker outspent rival Tom Barrett by more than 7-to-1, although independent liberal groups helped narrow that gap to about 2-to-1. Read related story.
