Path To Power
D'Agostino is a military man.
After earning his undergraduate degree from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD, D'Agostino served more than eight years on active duty in the U.S. Navy.
D'Agostino has spent most of his career at the NNSA, and worked his way to the top job from inside the agency.
His job is to keep America's nuclear arsenal safe, but also ready-to-use should the need arise.
D'Agostino was one of the few George W. Bush appointees asked to stay on in the Obama administration. Another notable holdover is Obama Defense Secretary Robert Gates.
