The former House majority leader, who resigned in disgrace after being caught up in the Jack Abramoff lobbying scandal, made a comeback running in a different kind of race: competing with eight other celebrities on the ABC reality show "Dancing with the Stars."
But in November 2010, right after Republicans regained control of the U.S. House they lost after accusations of corruption in the majority he led, DeLay was convicted of money laundering and conspiracy to funnel money to Texas legislative candidates in 2002.
