In the 2010 midterms, former DA and federal prosecutor Marino captured Pennsylvania's 10th Congressional District for the Republican Party from sophomore Rep. Chris Carney (D). (Full results here.)
A fiscal and social conservative, Marino believes in promoting small government, business-led job creation and a need to reduce the federal eficit and shrink the national debt as well as gun owners' rights and immigration law enforcement. He is opposed to President Obama's health-care reform law.

Marino was born and raised in Williamsport, Pa. He worked as a manager at two factory bakeries from the time he graduated high school in 1970 until the age of 30, when he realized his career would not advance without a college degree.
He went on to earn an associate's degree from Williamsport Area Community College, a bachelor's degree from Lycoming College and a law degree from Dickinson School of Law. While in law school, Marino studied abroad in Italy, Austria and France and financed his education by selling the house he shared with his wife, Edie, his truck and various antiques.
Marino is a conservative who believes first and foremost in small government, business-led job creation and a need to reduce the federal budget deficit and shrink the national debt.
Marino opposes abortion rights.
Marino is close friends with wealthy Pennsylvania businessman Louis DeNaples.
He was appointed a U.S. Attorney by former President George W. Bush and was endorsed in his 2010 House bid by former Republican primary opponent Malcolm Derk, as well as pro-business groups the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the National Federation of Independent Business.
