Overview

It's no simple matter to maintain forces around the world. The U.S. Transporation Command (USTRANSCOM) distributes people and resources to military operations through an average of more than 1,900 air missions, 25 shipsand 10,000 ground shipments each week. It is organized into a Surface Deployment and Distribution Command, a Military Sealift Command, and an Air Mobility Command, all of which move forces and their equipment where they need to be.

Vice Adm. Mark Harnitchek is Deputy Command, and Brig. Gen. Gregory E. Couch is Chief of Staff.
