Dr. Cheryl Woodson’s focus is on heart health, preventing illness, managing weight, stress and the miracles of maturity. She helps family caregivers meet their seniors’ needs without destroying their own health, finances or relationships. She specializes in arming clergy and other community leaders with the information they need to guide their members through difficult decisions about health, eldercare and the end of life. Dr. Woodson helps health care professionals and administrators “Surf the Silver Tsunami,” maintaining financial viability while giving excellent service to America’s growing senior population. She helps businesses attract senior clients, benefit from the experience and work ethic of the mature work force, make Human Resource benefits relevant to senior employees, develop Employee Assistance programs for caregiving employees and execute Risk Management protocols that address impaired employees and clients.
Her almost 30 years teaching and practicing geriatric medicine has included faculty appointments at both The University of Chicago and Northwestern University Medical Schools -- developing a community- based assessment program where older adults and their families receive Level of Care Prescriptions (LOCRx TM) and where adults of all ages can learn to avoid the health issues that challenge their seniors . Dr. Woodson also hosts “Sterling Silver,” a free community seminar series for people who have been blessed to be on the planet more than 40 years.
Dr. Woodson has received a fellowship in both the American College of Physicians and the American Geriatrics Society.
