CES 2013: ‘Paro’ robotic baby seal has therapeutic uses


January 10, 2013 3:31 PM EST Paro’s self titled therapeutic robot is closer to a Furby than the t-1000 on the robot spectrum, but the furry automation is packed with high-tech sensors and is used in hospitals and schools for autistic children as a form of therapy. The robot was created to allow greater access to animal therapy in areas were dogs or other animals might pose more risk than reward. (AJ Chavar / The Washington Post)
