I am an outdoor boy at heart and happiest when I am mixing it up in the green stuff. I grew up in a small village in Scotland and my childhood was one long succession of misadventures in my own local wilderness. Fishing, hunting, climbing, camping, swimming, hiking, biking or even better - all of them, filled my days between the ages of five and thirteen. I'd arrive home each day in the gloaming to find dinner on the table, and my mother just starting to be concerned that she hadn't seen me for eight or twelve hours. That youthful ability to disappear into the hills and waste entire days mucking about has never left me thank goodness.
