On Feb. 11, 1964, days after their career-making “Ed Sullivan Show” appearance, The Beatles performed their first U.S. concert to 8,000 screaming fans at the Washington Coliseum, a boxing ring in Northeast. On the 50th anniversary of that concert, the D.C. Preservation League and Douglas Development will re-create, minute for minute, the extraordinary 35-minute concert at the same venue, with a Beatles cover band on hand to perform the historic set list. Ticketholders can also see an exhibition of original photos from the first concert.
