Small money

President Obama is raising a larger share of his money from small-dollar donors than he did during his grass-roots-fueled 2008 campaign. While some of his Republican challengers also have a high proportion of small donors, they lag in fundraising overall. Obama has raised $155 million for his campaign and the Democratic National Committee - five times the amount raised by Mitt Romney, the top GOP fundraiser.
