1 p.m. at Greene Stadium. Records: Bison 3-4, 2-2 MEAC; Aggies 4-2, 3-0.
Mayhew mayhem: The focal point for the Bison will be containing the Aggies’ Mike Mayhew. The 5-foot-9, 210-pound senior running back is the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference’s top rusher and ranks eighth nationally in the Football Championship Subdivision, averaging 5.4 yards per carry and 112.5 yards per game. Mayhew also has five touchdowns. Howard is 44th nationally against the run (140.6 yards allowed per game) but gave up 191 rushing yards in last weekend’s 21-3 loss to Georgetown. The Bison’s rushing attack is led by senior Terrence Lefall, who is fifth in the conference at 66.1 yards per game but hasn’t found the end zone yet.
Carter moves up: Senior wide receiver Willie Carter moved into second place on Howard’s all-time receptions list with seven catches in the game against the Hoyas. With 160 receptions, Carter passed Tracy Singleton and now needs 25 catches in the final four games to pass Coach Gary Harrell’s school-record 184 receptions.
Streak-buster? The Bison have dropped three straight against the Aggies, including a 52-32 loss last season in which Mayhew rushed for 109 yards and two touchdowns. Howard’s last win over North Carolina A&T came in 2007.
