Senior G Patrick Holloway saved his biggest performances for the season's biggest games, leading No. 1 Paul VI Catholic to a 35-3 record, its first WCAC championship and the City Title. The George Mason recruit averaged 13.2 points.

Senior F Jonquel Jones was the top player on the top team this season, helping Riverdale Baptist (37-2) finish ranked No. 1 in the area for the fourth consecutive year. The Clemson recruit averaged 15.7 points and 15.6 rebounds.

Girls' indoor track: Athlete of the Year
South County junior Felecia Majors (shown competing during the 2011 outdoor track season) did any seven events just about as well or better than area athletes who specialized in one. She won Virginia AAA titles in the pole vault (12-0) and long jump (19-1.5), and was second in the 500 (1:15.85).

Centennial senior Nathan Kraisser (right) put together one of the finest careers the area has ever seen, becoming only the fifth Maryland public school wrestler -- and first from the D.C. area -- to win four state titles. The 126-pounder, a four-time All-Met, will wrestle at North Carolina.

Good Counsel junior Jack Conger, the repeat All-Met Swimmer of the Year, set new WMPSSDL records in the 100-yard backstroke (47.47) and 100 butterfly (47.43). A week later he broke the independent national high school record in the 500 free (4:17.51).

Goalie P.J. McNamara gave up just 2.1 goals per game and boasted a .918 save percentage, leading Georgetown Prep to the Interstate Athletic Conference regular season title. He is the first goalie to be named MAPHL player of the year.

The 6-9 Anya shot 66 percent and averaged 13.3 points, 10.5 rebounds, and a school-record 6.8 blocks. The 6-5 Jenkins was the area's most versatile player, averaging 20.4 points, 10.6 rebounds and 4 assists.
