Top players

Nick Bynum, Robinson, 6-4, Sr.

Will Ferguson, Herndon, 6-2, Sr.

C.J. Hill, Westfield, 6-2, Sr.

Dorian Johnson, Herndon, 6-4, Jr.

Brian Sydnor, Chantilly, 6-4, Sr.

Herndon is poised for a big turnaround behind the stellar backcourt of Ferguson (19.7 points per game), one of the region’s top players, and Johnson (16.6 ppg). Standing in the Hornets’ way is defending region champ Westfield. The Bulldogs lost their biggest post threats from a year ago but have a wealth of experience with nine seniors on the roster led by Hill and Tre’Von Walton. . . .

Chantilly features experience and offensive firepower behind senior Sydnor (17.2 points per game last season) and football standouts Deandre Harris and Sean Huelskamp. . . . Robinson’s quickness and athleticism, led by Bynum, makes the Rams a tough draw for any opponent.
